Bridge International Academies is one of the 2012 winners of the Africa Entrepreneurship Awards, and is one of the fastest growing companies in Kenya.
In 2013, Bridge International Academies will be the largest chain of any type of business in Kenya, and the largest private school provider in Africa, serving 50,000 children at 136 academies – or business units.
The Real Estate team is looking to hire a Program Officer to work closely with the Real Estate Manager to ensure that the team exceeds its annual goals.

Job Title: Program Officer
Location: Nairobi – although due to the nature of the post, you will often be often scouring land for new BIA academies.
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 8am-6pm (5.5 days).
JOB DESCRIPTION
Every 3 months, the Real Estate team closes a minimum of 50 land acquisition deals, leading to 50 new academies serving the children of Kenya. This team is at the heart of the company, ensuring growth in Kenya, and in the next 5 years, across East Africa.
Description of Responsibilities:
The Program Officer manages all day-to-day processing and tracking of each Real Estate Team’s workflow, including noting location of each team member, reconciling against work plan; monitoring new plots being submitted through GIS system; ensuring full legal documentation has come in for each deal; crosschecking all data to ensure no discrepancies; helping team members problem solve situations on the ground; evaluating cadastral and topographical surveys

- He or she learns the steps of a process quickly, and ensures that those same steps are carried out every time.
- This person is a good negotiator and understands how to make other people, even adversaries, feel comfortable.
- This person has a strict code of integrity, and would never cheat.
- He/she has excellent mathematics skills, is comfortable with maps and GIS technology, and works well with Excel.
The right hire isn’t trying to get out of the office every day at 5, because that is when work “should” end, but wants to stay as long as it takes to get the work needed for the day, or the week done.
